I'm a face in the crowd among you..
I've kept many of my stories to myself, and so I feel that I should finally reveal them..
But I won't reveal myself yet...
And so, I shall challenge you with this: Can you find me through my maze of words?
Shhh...this is my lil' secret.
The Keeper
To make this challenge a little easier, I'll give you a little hint

Short disclaimer
If you happen to have the same name, or the same personality as a character in these stories, it is purely coincidental. I just happened to make them like that.

Head down and hand gripped tightly around the pencil, Emily continued to sketch furiously and vent out everything she thought into it. This was her nightly rituals that she did around 3 or
Finally finished with her sketch, she tuned back into reality and stared at what she had drawn this time. Emily’s thoughts were always so buzzing and loud; she would just draw anything without realizing that she was drawing something. It took her a while before she finally processed what she had drawn. It was a very rough, but clear sketch of a man, sleeping with what looked like a peaceful and serene expression. Emily felt a pang of envy, jealous that more than one person was able to sleep peacefully while she drew endlessly every single night.
Lately, her drawing didn’t consist of her usual anymore, but of people sleeping, all with the same serene expression. Sometimes she could recognize them as her friends, but others were just a random person she must’ve noticed while walking down her busy street. There were people like that, she remembered, who could stand out so vividly and would stick to your mind, even though you didn’t know them. That was something close to what her lecturer said about the feelings people radiate. Because of those feelings, we could either be noticed, or just pass by like a blue. Emily had pondered on this when she was in the lecture room, but then brushed it off as another stupid thing that lecturers use to lure them into concentrating on their lectures.
But now, looking down at her sketches, she realized suddenly that her lecturer was right about everything, especially about what we can radiate. Though, she wasn’t sure what these strangers radiated that lead her into drawing them.
“Damn this…” She sighed and snapped her sketch book closed, hoping to at least try and get some sleep tonight.
=====
Emily didn’t get a single minute of sleep last night, but had instead reminisced about the lectures she was consciously present at. (Most of the time, she was in her own dream land, or discreetly sketching underneath her table.) After concluding that she wasn’t going to get any sleep with her mind like this, she went to her drawing room and started sketching again. Through the night, until an hour before getting ready for school, Emily drew different sketches and textures of people she didn’t know, but vaguely remembered them from somewhere.
Strolling towards her high school building that oddly seemed vintage-like, Emily scanned through her time-table. She was glad that ‘Higher Maths’ was during the first period. She needed something to take her mind off the sketches, and puzzling algebraic expressions were the perfect solution for it.
Too engrossed with her time-table, she didn’t notice the person that was accidentally pushed towards her. Emily felt herself fall towards the ground and land painfully onto the floor. She tried getting up but she felt the exhaustion from the lack of sleep seep into her bed, and an odd thought suddenly struck her: could she just rest there, on the ground, forever?
She was shaken out of her muse at the hand that was offered in front of her. The hand belonged to a guy around her age, holding a very sheepish but apologetic expression. She suddenly felt like hitting the guy because of his expression and his rude interruption of her desire to lay on the ground forever.
“Umm, are you gonna stay on the ground, or do you wanna take my hand and stand up?” The guy asked.
Emily remained silent and took his hand, lifting herself off of the ground. She brushed off the invisible dust from her clothes, and made her way towards the assembly area. She could’ve made it to the assembly area uninterrupted if it weren’t for this guy grabbing her wrist all of a sudden.
“Wait, you’re just going to go off just like that? Look, I’m really sorry for pushing you over, but you don’t have to act so cold!” Emily raised a quizzical brow at him, and tugged at her wrist slightly. The guy got the hint and released her wrist. “I’m Gavin, and I’m sorry for pushing you just now…”
“Apology accepted.” Emily didn’t bother to tell him her name, and decided to finally make her way towards the assembly. She checked her watch and saw that morning assembly was going to start in 10 minutes.
“What’s your name, anyways?” Emily tried not to grit her teeth in front of the guy.
“It’s Emily, so if you’ll excuse me…”
“Umm, Emily, as an apology, could I buy you lunch sometime?”
“You’ve already given enough apologies. I don’t need anymore…” Gosh, this guy was annoying. His countless apologies were already enough to cover that little accident. She made her away from him.
“So, I’ll see you again sometime? We’re in the same school, anyway.”
Emily craned her neck towards him, and saw that he was grinning at her.
What the hell is wrong with him? Did the fall do more damage than necessary?
“Umm, yeah, whatever…”
As she walked away, Gavin smiled to himself.
=====
Emily couldn’t sleep again that night, not because of her desire to draw, but because of the odd little incident that happened at school. His name was Gavin, wasn’t it? Emily wasn’t too sure…she wasn’t exactly the type to remember people’s names. Her drawings were evidence.
Though, the one thing about him that had piqued her curiosity was the foolish grin he gave her as they parted. What was that all about?
She told herself that she didn’t care, and that the guy was worth ignoring. Closing her eyes, she slowly faded deep into her thoughts. Sleep was not available to her anymore.
